The servers of Direct ICT are connected (with 1 Gbit lines) to the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMSIX), the Dutch Internet knot and one of Europe's most important Internet knots. On the AMSIX the Dutch Internet providers exchange information. Because of our optimal connection to the AMSIX your website visitors have a guaranteed quick response: your website is opened very fast in their browsers.
Network performance and network uptime can be guaranteed because our transit connections pass by 4 different transit providers.

Services
Direct ICT takes security very serious. The Redbus Interhouse data centre has an advanced 24x7 security system, to make sure that your equipment is 100% secure. On the premises of Redbus there are fences with moving gates, 24x7 monitoring by on-site personnel to screen all the incoming visitors visual and a CCTV video camera
surveillance with motion detectors.

Power
Our data centre has a redundant, stable and reliable power supply, which is very important if you look at the number of disturbances that occurred last year. The power supply is also scalable. The data centre has on-site fully self supplying power generators. Our data centre uses the N+1 standard as minimum; this means that when 3 generators are needed to supply non-stop power, 4 generators are installed.

Fire detection and extinguishing
A Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) is installed in our data centre. These exceptionally sensitive smoke detectors are connected to the Building Management System (BMS). This BMS is continuously observed by the control room personnel. Therefore possible fires can be easily prevented or are detected extremely fast. Besides that the data centre has an advanced water-fog system that can extinguish fires without damaging the servers.

Air Conditioning
The data rooms are cooled to 21°C ± 2°C to guarantee an optimal performance of your equipment. The relative humidity is controlled to 50% ± 10%. Both are constantly observed by the BMS.
